Coming in for sedation?
A simple prep timeline for IV sedation.
Follow these four steps and you'll wake up feeling like you took a great nap. Our CRNA will call the day before to answer any last-minute questions.
24 hours before
Eat and hydrate normally
Stay well-hydrated the day before. Skip alcohol and heavy meals late at night.
Night before
No food or drink after midnight
Nothing to eat or drink after midnight — including water — unless we tell you otherwise for medications.
Day of
Bring a driver and comfy clothes
Loose, warm layers. Leave contact lenses, jewelry, and makeup at home. Your driver stays for check-out.
After your visit
Rest, hydrate, follow instructions
Plan a quiet day at home. No driving, no big decisions, no alcohol for 24 hours. We'll call to check in.
